Addie
Addie (she/they) is a Vancouver-based educator and co-founder of Studio Allegory where she provides ongoing rope education as well as workshops in a variety of other kink topics. She is a switch and self-suspender, and her diverse background informs her instruction. Her happy place is nerding out on technical tidbits, breaking down ‘soft’ skills into specific trainable habits, and finding ways of tailoring rope experiences to the individual needs of the people involved.

Not an exaggeration! If Addie could teach everyone, regardless of level, just one exercise it would be this one. If ropes were music this would be an etude, an exercise that can be practiced in different ways, with different emphases, to develop different techniques and skills. It covers protecting finger joints, nailing and maintaining tension,...
Most rope education splits into categories: floorwork here, suspension there, people tying and people being tied. Pain/suffering on one end of the spectrum, beauty, ethereal "connective" rope on the other end. This weekend doesn't fall into binary categories.
