Barkas & Addie

24. February 2022, 6:15 pm – 8:15 pm

A lot of rope bondage is pattern-based and showcases the outcome of a tie, a finished pattern, a finished position.

Workshops in rope bondage all too often focus on the construction of a pattern or the final position into which the person tying has moved the person in ropes. This workshop goes in a different direction and explores the moments in which ropes are applied to the body. The impact of ropes has a similar temporality to music, i.e. the moment a note has been played, only memory remains of it. In tying with each other, the moment ropes are applied to the body, only a memory of the impact remains. We will use this temporality to work on different modes of impact, movement, and communication.

Content:

* Introduction and opening discussion of the topic

* Upper body tie and possibilities to move through it.

* Hip harness and possibilities to use frictions for impacts.

* Closing discussion
