Welcome to the world of Japanese style rope bondage, friend! It’s wild and fun out here and we are thrilled to be your point of entry.

This weekly class is designed for anyone who would like to learn about Japanese-inspired rope bondage/shibari/kinbaku whether you see yourself in the role of the person tying or being tied. We firmly believe that everyone, even if you wish to be tied, should know the absolute basics of this craft.

What we do

  • We talk about what the heck is Japanese inspired rope bondage and why we call it “inspired”.
  • We show you the tools are we using and tell you why they are designed the way they are.
  • We talk about why people love to tie/get tied and what happens if you tie/get tied?
  • We show you the fundamental principles of shibari and first techniques you can immediately use
  • We talk about the history of shibari, give you pointers on anatomy, psychology and safety
  • We will tie ourselves, other people (if you and they want to) and actually take time to try stuff out and play, play, play

This class is suited for

  • all kinds of bodies (abled and non-abled), all gender expressions, all kinds of sexualities (including people on the ace-spectrum), all kind of brains (neurospicy or neurotypical, affected by trauma, etc.)
  • people coming solo or bringing a partner (or group), people who only want to tie their own bodies as well as people who want to tie/get tied by others
