Have you become interested in trying out Japanese-inspired rope bondage? Then join us for a weekend-long deep dive into this fascinating practice.

Together we will explore the vastness of rope bondage. We will talk about its history and development, about the reasons why people like to tie and be tied. We will experience rope on our skin, first knots and little patterns but also its beauty, its sensual feeling, and its techniques. We will also cover safety, anatomy, and why on a physical and emotional level tying and being tied can have such a tremendous impact on people.

Come for curiosity, get all the info, stay for the fun, and play part. You can come alone or partnered, you can tie on yourself or other people. It is up to you how you approach your weekend of connecting to the practice of rope.

We have workshop ropes available so for this first encounter you do not need to purchase any items upfront.

What we will be exploring

  • Lark’s head, single-column tie and double-column tie
  • Basic pattern that you can use for different body parts
  • Rope handling and tension
  • Safety and negotiation
  • Connection and communication basics
  • We will play and tie for fun
  • History of Japanese inspired rope bondage (shibari/kinbaku)
