Queer New Beginnings is a space collaboratively created to plant seeds for change, kindness, joy, and desire. Caritia invites queer folks to come together to explore what self is in community.
To find nurturing and nourishing practices which allow for exploration of who you are now and take a glimpse at possible futures of your personhood.
Join Caritia for 2 days of collective, collaborative, and nuanced discovery of your physical, emotional, and mental self, curating space to find ways to support as well as hold the tender and vulnerable parts of your being, to discover the empowerment in softness and fun. Let’s move, write, use voice and enjoy touch practices that respect how our self/being wishes to be touched and moved.

What to Bring: comfortable clothing, tarot cards, pen, paper, pencils (colours), play items that would allow you to connect to yourself, an object to put energy into (crystal, toy, a picture, helpful reminder) an object to throw away (photo, an item of clothing, something you wish to let go of), an energising playlist of 10 or so songs via your preferred app on a device and headphones to listen to it. To honour and respect the space we are presently in residence at we may not be too loud, please keep this in mind when choosing items.

Who is this event for?
LGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity, meaning: lesbian, gay, bisexual, pansexual, transgender, non-binary, genderqueer/fluid, queer, intersex, asexual, aromantic, agender.
Friends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity, needs, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community.
When you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgement to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. You actively request and use people’s chosen pronouns. You remain mindful of the fact that Karada House is first and foremost a space for queer people that you are also invited to attend. You have a genuine concern for the well-being of LGBTQIA+ people and remain in awareness of heterosexual and gender straight privileges.
Friends don’t have to be perfect. None of us are. We request that we all pro-actively work and strive to be good friends and allies to marginalized people.
