Arms-behind-the-back harnesses (TKs etc) are a sticking point for many people; nerve and circulation issues, joint flexibility, muscle tension, and pre-existing strains or injuries need to be effectively handled in order for the tie to feel safe and sustainable. Settling the shoulders is the first step in making ties that work the individual wearing it. This mini spot looks at a gentle, ergonomic, rotator-cuff-approved way of bringing the arms behind the back without twisting or force. Bring your tricky shoulders!
Format: wild card
Minimum knowledge level: We’ll be working on upper body ties with wraps over arms and hands behind the back, either as the person tying or the person tied- both parties can learn from this method!
Maximum amount of participants: 12
What to bring: ropes!
Constellations: all constellations welcome (solo, partnered, groups), just watching is welcome
Accessibility: ability to bring arms behind the back, even if hands cannot cross. Movement is best done while standing or sitting on a high stool if unable to stand.
