This Wednesday will be an experimental class. We will be offering 90 minutes on shibari inspired rope, to give participants the opportunity for on going practice and improvement. This class is for those who are both with or without a partner and will offer tools and techniques to encourage, as well as inspire.

Open Training (20.45-22.15)

For this Basics class Caritia will encourage participants to practice, drill and study the essential basics for tying in this beautiful rope style. Expect to cover – rope terminology, flute & ladder tie – principles of tension & counter tension, safety protocols, rope care & maintenance, anatomy basics, health, self & after care, one rope practice, and breaking down of more structured ties. Everyone is welcome to attend this space to learn new skills or improve previous ones.

Participants must be able to tie single & double column ties, as well as a reef/square knot and know all basic terminology to be able to follow this class.

Those with more experience will be given additional challenges and for this reason it is preferred that participants have their cameras on, where possible.

What to bring:

You can practice and experience this workshop in your chosen constellation dynamic at home. All you need are three ropes, so you can follow and do all of the exercises.

The class is an online class. After the purchase of your ticket, you will get an e-mail with the login information for Jitsi Meet. If you don’t, please check your spam and then send a message to info@karada-house.de. If you cannot afford this class even with the soli ticket option, you can also message us.

Who is this event for?

LGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity, meaning: lesbian, gay, bisexual, pansexual, transgender, non-binary, genderqueer/fluid,

Friends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity, needs and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community.

When you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgement to and are respectful of everyone’s self expressions and do not assume, presume or project non consensual ideas onto others. You actively request and use people’s chosen pronouns. You remain mindful of the fact that Karada House is first and foremost a space for queer people that you are also invited to attend. You have a genuine concern for the well-being of LGBTQIA+ people and remain in awareness of heterosexual and gender straight privileges.

Friends don’t have to be perfect. None of us are. We request that we all pro-actively work and strive to be good friends and allies to marginalized people.

Facilitator

Caritia

About Caritia: lives as an LGBTQAI+, gender-fluid, BiPoC (assigned female at birth) individual. Walking a path with invisible disabilities and the living challenges which accompany that life. Educator, creative and ongoing work in process, whose advocacy for establishing boundaries is as strong as the desire to love with truth and honesty. On a quiet mission to destigmatise difference and return power to each individual. Using the language of kink to the point of geeky excitement. Caritia’s fascination with the root/the body stems from a longing too deeply ‘listen’ to (her) body holistically, from the inside out.
