Ditch the blueprints and get creative! This class invites you to experiment with pace, rhythm, mood, and spontaneity. We’ll explore improvisation techniques, play with one-rope ties, and get inspired by wrapping, unwrapping, and re-wrapping bodies in intuitive ways.

Rope Fundamentals

Start here if you’re new to rope, want a solid foundation of shibari skills, or need to get back to basics. You’ll learn the “what” and the “how” of tying: handling your rope, basic knots, simple harnesses, and how rope can connect bodies and moods. We keep it relaxed, safe, and supportive.

Dasniya Sommer is a Berlin-based choreographer and (visual) artist who works in the range from performance to photography and video art, from Japanese Shibari to classical ballet.
