Power has different meanings depending on the context and perspective you are coming from. In kink and D/s dynamics power is often associated with the dominant side and the act of consensual taking of power over the submissive partner.
This is where things get messy for many people. How do we dare to take when taking and power are often convoluted and associated with unconsenusal power-grabbing and or overwhelm? How do we distinguish it from malign action and egocentrism? How do we deconstruct what is nourishing/empowering, from what is not? Taking power has a poor track record and there is a great deal of discomfort in the act of taking.
In this workshop, we are exploring this topic through an intentional kink framework that offers participants an opportunity to explore and take a journey into how you can bring parts of the deconstruction and reconstruction of power into your every day and kink life.
In this workshop, Caritia aims to support you in deconstructing the narratives and stories you hold about power and to critically enquiry what intentional power play, dominance and power exchange, are for you with respect to playing and intimacy.
This workshop is for everyone who is struggling to step into a dominant role, take power and enjoy the process.

Who is this event for?
LGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity, meaning: lesbian, gay, bisexual, pansexual, transgender, non-binary, genderqueer/fluid, queer, intersex, asexual, aromantic, agender.
Friends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity, needs, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community.
When you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgement to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. You actively request and use people’s chosen pronouns. You remain mindful of the fact that Karada House is first and foremost a space for queer people that you are also invited to attend. You have a genuine concern for the well-being of LGBTQIA+ people and remain in awareness of heterosexual and gender straight privileges.
Friends don’t have to be perfect. None of us are. We request that we all pro-actively work and strive to be good friends and allies to marginalized people.
