Aftercare isn’t just a nice idea — it’s a vital part of returning to homeostasis after intense scenes and powerful experiences. Through discussion and embodied exercises inspired by Jake Ernst’s “Routes of Safety,” we’ll explore tools for shared, self, and group aftercare, so that soft landings become as intentional as our scenes.

What we will explore:

  • Who needs aftercare, what agreements are in place, and when care begins and ends
  • How consent, communication, and power dynamics shape aftercare from scene to scene and person to person
  • How to name our needs with honesty and compassion, especially when our capacity doesn’t match our partner’s
  • The often-overlooked realms of pre-care and during-care
  • Pathways for grounding, reconnection, and gentle reintegration
