liminal | ˈlɪmɪnl |adjective technical
- occupying a position at, or on both sides of, a boundary or threshold
- relating to a transitional or initial stage of a process
Kink and the practices of BDSM have always stood at the edges of society, forming it’s own ways of being and doing. Kink sits at the edge of desire and fear, inspiration and seclusion, a space for the other. What happens when we use that in-between to explore the edges and outer limits of our bodies and being? At this time of the year the shift of season is clearly under way the Northern Hemisphere is plunging it to it’s darkness – at the edge of sleep. Embracing the transition (death) and what desires to be released.
Caritia invites participants to play their edges, exploring the boundaries of the physical and psychological, to unleash play that has not yet had the opportunity to be explored.
This class offers
- Space to discover
- Identifying what boundaries there are, how they are both bringing more possibilities and restricting
- Discussion on what edges exist and why
- Shared space for perspectives of shadows – for self and group reflection
- Play as a resource for reaching the edges of different kinds
- Care, intention setting and space holding for edge play
This class is for
- Anyone seeking to (re)discover their different aspect of themselves or the kink they love
- Folks holding space for the unknown and the unexpected
- Folks curious about supportive tools for processing endings and moving towards new beginnings.
- This event is for LGBTQIA+ & Wômen

More Information
1. liminal | ˈlɪmɪnl |adjective technical
1 occupying a position at, or on both sides of, a boundary or threshold
2 relating to a transitional or initial stage of a process
In this context, Caritia is offering space and space holding for participants to explore intentional kink edge play, within a framework supported by boundary setting, selecting and pre-negotiation of the types of edge play that you wish to engage in – Introduction, wishes and desires, forms of play, care plan and community considerations. Participants will also be given time to ground/release before leaving the space.
2. No scat, piss or extreme blood play will be permitted. Needles possible.
No uniform or institutional forms of play that replicate oppressive systems.
Inspiration for play scenes – humiliation, objectification, impact play, power exchange, role play, micro-management, sensation play.
Consider your play to be a small intentional container, by which a participant can intentionally say goodbye to something that is no longer needed. Or that they wish to give another meaning entirely.
Emotional release is welcome and invited.
LGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity, meaning: lesbian, gay, bisexual, pansexual, transgender, non-binary, genderqueer/fluid, queer, intersex, asexual, aromantic, agender.
Womên describes people who are identifying themselves as female in their gender identity. People that fit this category can be part of the LGBTQIA+ spectrum or not. We created this category specifically to indicate that we also invite cisgender, heterosexual womên.
The word is our own creation and serves as a replacement for the word "womxn" which is now being (ab)used for transmisogynist statements. The ^ in womên represents a marker (similar to the "x" in womxn) that wishes to give emphasis to the fact that womênhood is an intersectional umbrella term that holds many different people and experiences and is not biologically predetermined.
