The corner of the room, the chair nobody sits on, the six steps between you.

This class opens up what belongs to a scene. We’ll work with the room itself: the furniture, the walls, the corners, the distance between two people. We’ll look at how someone arrives, how the space sets a tone before anything is said.

A few exercises to try things out, then time to play with whatever you want to take further.

We Will Explore:

  • Arrival — how a scene begins before it begins
  • The room as material: furniture, corners, walls, thresholds
  • Distance and placement in the room
  • Letting the space carry part of the work

Who this class is for:

  • Anyone ready to play with more than the mat
  • People looking for new ideas they can keep using at home
  • Nerds who just love learning and want to pick up some new details
