Rope Handling for Communication

Rope bondage suffers from an arbitrary separation of tying skills and communication skills. This workshop seeks to break through that border by exploring how they need each other to the point of being indistinguishable.

Format: hands-on workshop

Minimum knowledge level: single column tie and some basic frictions

Maximum amount of participants: as many as fit

What to bring: 2-5 ropes, safety equipment

Georg Barkas is an intimacy educator, researcher, and rope bondage performer based in Vancouver, Canada. Their focus lies in the deconstruction of established norms and approaches to kink, intimacy, and sexuality. Emmy (she/her)

Emmy (she/her) is a queer, bottom-leaning rope switch from England, living in Vancouver, Canada. Her focus is communication and consent, as well as the meta aspects of tying. Together with Barkas, she co-teaches regular Kinbaku classes and helps organizing community.
