Reclaiming Yourself Retreat

23. April 2022 – 24. April 2022, 11:00 am – 5:00 pm

Spring is upon us once again and cycles of birth have begun, well for some at least. The overwhelming changes that continue to haunt us this past 2+ years with the pandemic, the loss of life, changes of government, and now a war – have taken their toll on our being as a whole. Our bodies/physical selves have undergone quite a number of changes.

Where can the space be found to come back to ourselves, digest the monumental shifts that our lives have faced?
Caritia desires to offer such a space, to allow the death of what no longer nourishes you, face the challenge of change and reclaim your energy and body wholly for yourself.

In this 2 day retreat Caritia will offer participants space to plant the seeds of change they wish to nurture and allow to sprout and bloom this summer and for the time to come. With the aim to collectively take space to grieve, embrace the changes and take steps towards the new rituals you wish to form and embrace.

Who is this event for?

LGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity, meaning: lesbian, gay, bisexual, pansexual, transgender, non-binary, genderqueer/fluid,

Friends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity, needs, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community.

When you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgment to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. You actively request and use people’s chosen pronouns. You remain mindful of the fact that Karada House is first and foremost a space for queer people that you are also invited to attend. You have a genuine concern for the well-being of LGBTQIA+ people and remain in awareness of heterosexual and gender straight privileges.

Friends don’t have to be perfect. None of us are. We request that we all pro-actively work and strive to be good friends and allies to marginalized people.

Facilitator

Caritia (no pronouns)

Caritia is a Berlin-based kink activist, shibari educator, and co-founder of Karada House and OhYesPlease.org. Caritia’s fascination with the root/the body stems from a longing to deeply ‘listen’ to the body holistically, from the inside out. Self-identifying and living in a queer, gender non-conforming, BiPoC (afab) body, connecting with the LGBTQIA+ spectrum, as a sex worker and dominant, thrivi...
