Nana Quinn
Nana Quinn is a non-binary and bisexual rope teacher and has worked in facilitating and aiming to create more inclusive rope spaces now for over a decade. They are an active member and organiser in Helsinki Shibari community and also offer private sessions and teaching at their small home studio. Their background in teaching has been rooted in studying art pedagogy in university before dropping out without a degree. Nana has studied kinbaku with many teachers from different backgrounds at workshop and private tuition settings in Europe, although most of their knowledge comes from experiencing rope bondage first hand in different roles, contexts and relations. Nana’s practice has been strongly defined by their respect for female, trans and non-binary sexworkers who do and have done kinbaku as part of their profession. Lately they have been busy doing community capacity building in the activist field with other dykes and tying queer men at home.
