Azul is a multifaceted Colombian artist, alternative model, and contemporary dancer. Her practice explores the full spectrum of rope: being tied, self-tying and self-suspension, as well as tying others.

For Azul, rope is first and foremost a form of connection. A space in which two people can allow themselves to be vulnerable and meet each other simply as human beings.

At the same time, she sees rope as a form of artistic expression. She enjoys bringing together shibari, dance, eroticism, and theatre in her work.
With what she describes as her naturally clumsy nature, Azul has found her own path into tying, which she wuld decribe as an “elephant style,” inspired by Barkas.

She began exploring rope as a rope bottom in 2019, when she first discovered her fascination with shibari. In 2021, she became more involved in the rope community and began exploring self-tying. Two years later, in 2023, she decided to start tying others and has since trained through a range of in-person and online workshops with facilitators including No Shibari, Pauline Massimo, Hua Hua, Barkas, Gorgone, Señor Interior, Renée de Sans, Rembrandt, Maleku, and others.
