Event Details
Apologizing is something that all of us are very familiar with, whether we like it or not. It is an essential part of how we sustain relationships and practice consensual and meaningful connections.
It plays a role in every relationship, but especially in polyamorous and open relationships. Many of us need to unlearn hetero- and mono-normative norms and in this process of unlearning, we come across lots of obstacles and trials and errors. Apologizing becomes a central figure in practicing sustainable relationships.
Yaniv would like to invite the participants for a little deep dive into what it means to apologize in an accountable and responsible way. We will talk about the elements of a good apology, define each participant’s responsibility and role in that process, and differentiate between accepting, forgiving, and moving forward.

This workshop aims to explore the historical influences of colonization on our perceptions of love, relationships, and non-monogamy, and how to decolonize these constructs for more inclusive and authentic connections. Participants will break down Eurocentric norms of love, such as monogamy and nuclear families.
They will also discuss how colonial languages have shaped the way we describe love and relationships. Participants will be put into groups so they can brainstorm alternative, culturally sensitive terms for non-monogamous relationships.

Polyamory / Ethical Non-Monogamy are becoming more and more part of the intersectional, queer, and also the kink discourse around politics, freedom, and identity. These practices are complex and have a huge potential to free yourself from oppressive norms of any kind. However, shedding yourself from certain societal and personal conditioning is often complicated. Even more so if you realize how intersectional and therefore by default political your love and your relationship constructs are.
Love is Polytical brings different facilitators with multiple approaches and backgrounds together to take a deep dive into the field of ethical polyamory/non-monogamy and its intersections with gender, sexuality, language, wealth, housing, body size, mental health, neurodiversity, ability, education, skin color, and citizenship.
We will offer a variety of formats from discussions to workshops or interventions with a focus on critical inquiry but also hands-on approaches in hopes of enabling participants to not only think about ethical polyamory/non-monogamy in a more intersectional way but also acquire skills to act accordingly in the future.
