Shibari does not exist in a vacuum, the subculture has its own trends and norms. These are not static, but change with time and follow power. Ties and aesthetics have different levels of accessibility. This is a demo and exploration on the last 15 years of rope trends. Ceci will share their observations, and you’re invited to share your own experiences.

We will try some retro ties and analyze the similarities and differences with current trends. Ceci will cover both harnesses and suspension shapes through demos and a presentation. Some ties are possible to self-tie, some will require tying with a partner.

Ceci is a queer, non-binary, and fat sexologist. They are a huge sex nerd with a special interest in shibari and have been teaching bondage and BDSM for 10 years.
