The world can often feel divided and exclusionary. What would it mean to turn that on its head? This workshop explores how we can actively include ourselves and others, while acknowledging the real need for both inclusive and separatist spaces.

Together, we will examine the barriers that create exclusion—such as access, power dynamics, and social norms—and explore practical ways to respond to them. The focus is on finding a balance between collective needs and individual experiences, and reimagining what truly supportive spaces can look like.

Led by Caritia, this session offers a space for reflection, discussion, and collaborative thinking. Participants will be invited to design and imagine the kinds of groups and environments they would want to be part of, while developing tools to meaningfully include difference and diversity for the benefit of all.

What we’ll cover

  • What “radical inclusion” means in practice

  • The role of exclusion: boundaries, safety, and separatist spaces

  • Identifying barriers to inclusion (access, identity, power)

  • Balancing individual needs with group dynamics

  • Designing spaces you would actually want to belong to

  • Practical strategies for including difference and diversity
