To observe means to watch over, to note, to heed, to look to, to attend to, to guard, to regard, or to comply with.
It comes from ob – “in front of, before” together with servare – “to watch or keep safe”

But the observer is not just outside and without influence on the observed. We observe each other and the audience observes us as well as we observe the audience.

Emmy (she/her)

Emmy (she/her) is a queer, bottom-leaning rope switch from England, living in Vancouver, Canada. Her focus is communication and consent, as well as the meta aspects of tying. Together with Barkas, she co-teaches regular Kinbaku classes and helps organizing community.
