In the beginning is always that moment of a first. A first glance, a first touch, a first tie. A greeting, if you will. In this opening class, we will be looking at those first moments of any rope session. We will dissect our approaches to each other and establish possibilities for new and exciting beginnings.

Format: hands-on workshop

Minimum knowledge level: single-column-tie

Maximum amount of participants: as many as fit the space

What to bring: 1-2 ropes

Constellations: all constellations welcome, partnered exercises

Accessibility: We will sit on the floor and also stand and walk around but there are also more accessible options

Georg Barkas is an intimacy educator, researcher, and rope bondage performer based in Vancouver, Canada. Their focus lies in the deconstruction of established norms and approaches to kink, intimacy, and sexuality. Emmy, originally from England, with an academic background in Law, is co-founder of Studio Allegory in Vancouver, Canada. She has been tying for over 3 years, and enjoys teaching rope and other forms of kink and intimacy, with a focus on consent, communication and other meta-aspects.
