Approaches

In the beginning is always that moment of a first. A first glance, a first touch, a first tie. A greeting, if you will. In this opening class, we will be looking at those first moments of any rope session. We will dissect our approaches to each other and establish possibilities for new and exciting beginnings.

Format: hands-on workshop

Minimum knowledge level: single-column-tie

Maximum amount of participants: as many as fit the space

What to bring: 1-2 ropes

Constellations: all constellations welcome, partnered exercises

Accessibility: We will sit on the floor and also stand and walk around but there are also more accessible options

Georg Barkas (they/them)

Georg Barkas is an intimacy educator, researcher, and rope bondage performer based in Vancouver, Canada. Their focus lies in the deconstruction of established norms and approaches to kink, intimacy, and sexuality. Emmy (she/her)

Emmy (she/her) is a queer, bottom-leaning rope switch from England, living in Vancouver, Canada. Her focus is communication and consent, as well as the meta aspects of tying. Together with Barkas, she co-teaches regular Kinbaku classes and helps organizing community.
