It’s so valid and common to have a complex relationship to sexuality, which can be amplified by pain. We might feel exhausted, afraid, uncertain, overwhelmed, curious, adventurous, or even joyed by the connection of our pain to our sexuality. Regardless of where you are in that journey, you are welcome in this space. This workshop is for folx who experience chronic pain, our partners & our allies to hold and explore these complexities.
Almonds intention for this workshop is to hold space for the exploration of chronic pain at the intersection of sexuality & intimacy – in our own bodies and in the bodies of people we love. We will arrive in gentle embodiment with a collective poem. We will chat about disability justice, de-centering normative sex practices, expanding ideas of climax & moving through difficult emotions we may experience about our bodies and our sexuality. We will share strategies and turn-ons. Almond will guide you in a short erotic self-pleasure practice. And we will end with some journaling. It will be filled with deep respect for all of the ways we each arrive at sexuality within this common thread of chronic pain.
This workshop is a repetition of the workshop that was hosted by Karada during the About: Sexual Identities conference.

Almond Linden (she/they) is a sex educator & ritual facilitator who is enchanted by herbalism. Based on Anishinabewaki territory in so-called Canada, she's a fat, queer, disabled, white, gender-exploring being.
Their work prioritizes fellow people in chronic pain & disabled folx in finding empowerment through safer embodiment practices. Forests, vibrators & pain-relief cream are her trio of choice.
