This workshop is an introduction to self tying and self suspending that aims to teach you everything you need to know to tie yourself and suspend yourself savely.
This workshop will cover:
– preparation, safety measures and tool for self tying & suspending
– safe suspension lines and how to handle them alone
– frictions, tie-offs, knots you need to know
– principles of self suspension
– easy patterns and underlying structural thoughts that make your life in the air easier
– first steps in self suspension with spotters to help you
– movement and flow
– how to come done in a safe and easy way
What you should know:
The workshop is suited for those with no previous experience with self tying or self suspending however previous experience and knowledge of shibari and rope terminology is needed as we will learn at a relatively high pace.
You need to be able and comfortable to tie: single column tie, double column tie, ladder tie and have basic knowledge of up lines (suspension lines).
You need at least 6 ropes and 3 carabiners (min. 21kn, preferable oval in shape). If you do not have as many ropes, please contact us at info@karada-house.de, we can sell you ropes.
Please bring yourself lunch/snacks. We provide water but no kitchen service/snacks due to Covid-19 restrictions. We will ask you to wear a mask in the workshop. When you self suspend you can take it off.
What else to know:
Karada House strives to be a gender, sexuality, bodies, marginalized, neurodiverse and intersection individuals inclusive space. We use queer as a self identifying term, which may not fit for all individuals, it remains an umbrella term by which Karada House identifies its core community and includes itself. Allies are welcome as long as they hold a similar ethos, ethics and values under which Karada House Team leads its space.
This offering will fall within the present guidelines of Covid 19. Pre-registration only. The number of participants is limited to 7 people. Everyone must be fit and healthy when entering the space. No food or snacks will be provide, everyone must provide their own. Toilets are available, the shower is not. We prefer that you wear a mask.
Karada House is a queer safe(r) space and participants are agreeing to adhere to the Karada House rules and guidelines, by purchasing a ticket for this event. Those found to be falsifying information to gain entry, will be denied permission to return when found to be in violation of these rules.
