This workshop is an introduction to self tying and self suspending.
We will start off with a centering exercise connecting to our bodies, our breath, the space and the rope.
We will then proceed to talk about some self tying and self suspending safety concerns before starting to tie.
For the first part of the class we’ll stay on the floor learning some patterns that come in handy for self suspending (hands free upper body harnesses, a hip harnesses and leg ties).
There will be a short break after which we’ll start leaving the floor through partial and eventually full suspensions.
What you should know:
The workshop is not suited for those with no previous experience with tying or suspensions You need to be familiar with basic ties such as single/double column ties, tension/counter tension and somerville bowlines, reef knot, yuki fix etc.
Please bring your own set of 8 ropes and at least 3 carabiners (min 21kn). If you do not have own ropes, please contact us at info@karada-house.de.
Please also bring a towel, your own food and drink (we are not allowed to serve you any at the moment). Wearing masks is optional but strongly advised.
