- Minimum knowledge
- This is intermediate/advanced class: you should have done suspensions as a part of your independent rope practice (not just in class) and be able to tie all ties needed for side suspension you wish to create. I will give an option for lower body tie and offer help in adjusting your upper-body harness. Participants can adjust content for their shared skill level and needs: you can tie closer to the ground, work standing or explore play in the air.
- What to bring
- 3-5 suspension lines, 5-8 ropes on the body, rope cutter, clothes that you like to tie and be tied in
- Accessibility notes
- You can choose ties that you are familiar with and are working for you. Upper-body-tie should be something that has arms included and you can create a suspension point on the side with: any arms-front harness, tk, strappado, tengu etc. We will build the suspension in a way that no matter what size your body is, it will be possible for you.

We take a closer look into building a balanced side suspension. Participants are expected to attend with a tying partner/s they feel comfortable communicating and learning with. The tying skills needed in this workshop require solid knowledge of rope bondage basics, ability to tie a suspension worthy upper-body-tie that is suitable for side suspension and skills on suspension line management.
People getting tied should feel confident being suspended and be aware of their own body in ropes and have realistic understanding of the risks involved in suspension play. We will work on bamboo although alternations of the shape can be created on a ring. Our focus will be in weight distribution and creating sustainable suspensions to be played with for possibly a longer time.
