Bishop Black is a British artist who has been on stage for almost 10 years, first as a performance artist before moving into burlesque, cabaret and theater. They express themself primarily by using their body as a form of language and as a politicized tool, through sexuality and gender. Having also worked in the field of film in the adult and independent industry, they now perform mainly onstage, developing unique but interconnected performances using mythology, ritual, queerness and dance. In all their works, the intention to create athmosphere through music and acting is seen as a leitmotif that aims for development and growth by liberating what might be considered absurd and invigorating and unlocking the inhibitions one feels in one’s own body.
