In Japanese, “agura” refers to the cross-legged sitting position: on the floor, legs crossed, knees open, and the feet tucked under the thighs. By extension, we also use this term to name the shibari harness designed to tie someone in this posture. Especially interesting for its stability and versatility, this harness distributes the weight of the lower body effectively and opens up a rich playground for exploring openness, twisting, arching, and compression !

The class will begin with a clear breakdown of how to build a structured agura with 3 to 4 ropes. We will then look at the different ways to attach suspension lines to it, before offering a sequence of transitions and variations that encourage creativity and playful exploration around this iconic form.
