Who have we learned — from dominant culture, from our subcultures — is “other”? How does that inform who we engage and connect with and on what ways; who we let be strange, who we (de)humanize?
What happens when we temporarily try and suspend those patterns, and share sensual experiences with random partners, ones we might not be immediately drawn to?
We’ll take time to speak about who and what we’ve been taught to other, and why.
Then go into an experiment — an invitation to…
1. …intentionally observe our projections & assumptions about someone we’re about to engage with;
2. …allow ourselves to come into non-verbal, improvised space together, within a defined space, for a limited time, following emergent impulses & responses, with no end-goal;
3. …compare our expectations with our experience.
