Kinbaku scenes are built first and foremost around  people. But also around the rope structure as well as the position and last but not least, the purpose of the scene.

If we look at tying from the perspective of how they are constructed and if we acknowledge that everyone has their own view on tying, their own set of aesthetics, purposes, and longings, we can look at it in a similar way as we would with the different houses and districts of a city.
In this workshop series, we will explore how we can each build our own house by using different materials, tools, and techniques for creating rope scenes that are special and unique.

Part I: The Introduction

In this part we will dive into the metaphor of “architectures” in Kinbaku and how to use it. We will also get to know tools, materials and techniques that come with thinking and working shibari/kinbaku within the frame of this metaphor.

Part II: The Poetics of Space

Let’s walk through a house (metaphorically!); what can it tell us about our rope scenes? Let’s walk through a city (metaphorically!); what can it tell us about different schools and moods of Shibari/Kinbaku?

Part III: Who wants to Live in a Townhouse?

In this session, we will explore your own architectural style of Shibari/Kinbaku.
