Messy, ugly ropes

Dive into the raw, messy side of rope! Through progressive exercises, we’ll explore how beauty and ugliness feel in our sessions. Ugliness in kink and rope is a wild, powerful thing to experiment with! It’s about finding balance and creating a shared space where we can play and challenge our perceptions of ourselves.

 

Format: Discussion, talk & hands-on workshop

Minimum knowledge level: no minimum knowledge – partial suspension will be demoed but it’s optional

Maximum amount of participants: as many as fit the space

What to bring: ropes, a comfy blanket or sweater for aftercare, blindfold (optional)

Constellations: all constellations welcome

Accessibility: It is expected this to be emotionally intense

Queerbaku is a rigger and rope instructor based in Lyon, France. His approach to tying, movement, and pedagogy is shaped by his experience teaching queer individuals and living with chronic pain. Both calm and sadistic, he loves slow-paced sessions that explore intimacy and torment. To him, shibari is about the feeling of being held and seen.
