This is your moment to polish those suspension line skills or to get a first view into how to lock lines.
We will practice locking off on carabiners, rings, and bamboo. We will also try the most common suspension line attachments on harnesses. You will get some tips on efficient lifting techniques. In this hands-on class, you will practice locking lines both under light and heavy tension. Bring your suspension line questions!

Minimum Knowledge Level: You are able to fluently tie suspension-safe harnesses taught to you by advanced riggers. You understand the importance of rope tension and properly placed frictions. You understand the risks involved in suspension and know how the human anatomy is affected by the ropes. If you do not have all these skills, you commit to only using suspension lines in partial suspension on body parts with fewer risks for injury.
What to bring: At least 3 ropes suitable for shibari-style tying.
Solo or partnered: both works, everyone needs a ticket
Class recording: Yes. The session will be recorded and available for 14 days after the workshop. The participants will not be recorded.
What we will teach:
– Locking main suspension lines on bamboo, ring, and carabiner
– Locking secondary suspension lines
– Attaching suspension lines to harnesses with single and double column ties (Y hangers)
– Efficient lifting technique
