During a bondage session, the breathing of the tied up person is often impacted. A simple chest harness can become real torture when breathing in certain positions. The rope is a perfect tool for breath play. The rigger can play with his or her partner’s breathing on different spots: mouth, throat, ribcage, abdomen… After...
Bänana
Bänana, a ten-year bondage enthusiast, found her passion in shibari in 2017, drawn to its raw and authentic nature. As she has always been fascinated by the expression of emotions, shibari, and more specifically semenawa has opened up a new path of exploration to her. She began to follow Docvale’s teaching in November 2018, later partnering with him to co- manage Atelier Simonet in Paris until summer 2023. Bänana considers that in order to tie well, we must understand each of our technical choices rather than learning the instructions by heart. She gives to her students a solid grounding so they can feel free while tying and put these technical abilities at the service of the relationship with their partners. Being in ropes is also something to be apprehended. Not that you have to behave in any particular way. On the contrary, every tied-up person has to find the way that pleases him or her. It’s also a long journey full of questions and emotions, and it seems important to Bänana that all this is taken into account during her courses. Bänana’s courses are so often highly interactive, with the idea that everyone should have a place to ask questions and express their experiences and feedback in order to grow together in this practice. Bänana created La Cabäne in Paris during winter 2024.
Events from this organiser
When we tie someone up, we restrict their ability to move, with more or less intensity depending on the type of shape we're tying. Our intention here will be to push the concept of immobility in the ropes to its extreme as an experiment. We’ll be building a partial suspension bondage where each added...

A transition is the movement from one position to another. It can be done gradually or abruptly, depending on the intention behind it and what we want to communicate to the person being tied. Transitions are often linked to dynamic tying styles but are less commonly associated with semenawa (torment rope). In semenawa, the person...
This floor-based class will introduce playful bondage techniques, all centered around a shared objective: deliciously exposing the person in ropes. The session will leave room for creativity, allowing each pair to explore ways of exposing the other to provoke responses. (What feels exposing or intimidating to one person may not be so for another…) The...
Adding a third or fourth rope to a TK (takate-kote) is a common practice in semenawa, enriching the tie by adapting it to specific needs and intentions. This workshop will focus on how to incorporate these additional ropes across a variety of contexts. Whether used to support complex positions like gyaku ebi, optimize vertical suspensions,...
Torments & Bamboos on the Floor
Bamboos can add a very playful and surprising element to a rope session. They introduce rigidity and structure, allowing us to create unusual shapes and striking body constraints. For the one tied, the sensations can be gripping and intense! What we will do in this class: In this class, we will explore challenging...
Spicy Predicaments
Spicy Predicaments is a partial suspension class dedicated to predicament bondage with a distinctly teasing twist. We’ll explore configurations where the tied person hovers between discomfort, pleasure, and temptation, encouraged to move… or not move at all. Through playful and provocative shapes, we’ll add another layer of tension and challenge, creating situations where every shift...
Crab Variations – Partial
The crab position is an iconic form in shibari. The semi-suspension, which allows one to play both with body openness and balance, is particularly suited to it. Although it is based on a few core principles : an angular structure, forearms often tied to the legs, and a strong body opening. This position can be...
Agura & Transitions
In Japanese, “agura” refers to the cross-legged sitting position: on the floor, legs crossed, knees open, and the feet tucked under the thighs. By extension, we also use this term to name the shibari harness designed to tie someone in this posture. Especially interesting for its stability and versatility, this harness distributes the weight of...
Bamboos can add a playful yet striking element to a rope session. By introducing rigidity and structure, they allow us to create unusual shapes, strong lines, and specific body constraints. For the person in ropes, the sensations can be gripping, intense, and sometimes surprisingly confronting. In this workshop, we will explore challenging ties using bamboos...
In most Japanese-inspired styles, chest harnesses – especially TKs – are a central element: practical, aesthetic, and an ideal way to connect with the person in ropes. When designing this workshop five years ago, I asked myself: how can we tie the hands in a creative way while maintaining technical precision, aesthetic consistency, and a...
