The crab position is an iconic form in shibari. The semi-suspension, which allows one to play both with body openness and balance, is particularly suited to it. Although it is based on a few core principles : an angular structure, forearms often tied to the legs, and a strong body opening. This position can be explored through many variations.
The intentions it conveys can range from exposure to objectification, from play with breath to intense physical constraint, and more. The goal of this class will be to explore different variations of this position, in order to discover its richness and diversity.
