Event Details

This workshop will start with picking some specific needs from the participants regarding difficulties with the TK.

Through Benoît’s technical knowledge and Noémie’s awareness of anatomy, we will try to go through various tips and variations and harness buildings to give everyone the keys to create their own experiments and find adaptations and solutions.

The idea is also to give models the understanding of what would work better for them and to give people tying the tools to make it happen.

Details:

Format: discussion, demonstration

Minimum Knowledge Level: These prerequisites will make the discussion easier to follow, but are not absolute requirements, as there will not be a real “hands-on” part in this workshop.
For people getting tied: having experience with TKs / gotes. Even better if they tried different types and have an idea about their preferences or difficulties.
For people tying : as I won’t go into TK basics, it will be better if you have technical knowledge about one high-hands / stemless / V-shapes TK, and one mid-hands / stemmed / T-shaped TK.

What to Bring: Your partner and one or two ropes if you want to try some of the things during the workshop, but in any case, if you really want to profit from this class, you’ll have to experiment on your own later. So, mostly: a notebook and a pen, or your favorite notes app.

Solo or Partnered: partnered, if you want to tie along, any constellation for watching

Class recording: yes

This class will be recorded (only the facilitator, not the participants) and is available for ticket holders for 30 days after the event.

Facilitator

Noémie Knot_NiDi (she/her)

I've been into ropes since 2 years now, I'm a switch but preferably tied up at the moment. I'm mostly tied by my partner Benoit and care a lot about highlighting the model perspective during classes, as we teach together. I also love to show the type of ropes, play and vulnerability we share together.

Benoît Descordes (she/her)

Benoît Descordes is a nonbinary switch from Paris, France. She was lucky enough to begin her rope education in 2014 when various teachers started coming to Paris from all over the world which offered her a large technical skills, and a view on many different styles. Now, almost ten years later, her style is a kind of semenawa mixing playful predicaments and slow buildings of torturous ropes. Her comfort zone as a teacher is to go into deep geeky technical stuff, and sometimes dig into beyond ropes topics, like consent strategies, session dynamics, or the reasons we do what we do. For a few months, she now teaches with Noémie and together they both try to give space and time for the model perspective to be shared.
