In this workshop we will do a deep dive into queer theory, social sciences and how those relate to our everyday kinks. We want to explore how inequalities, colonialism, racism, sexism and other axes of oppression intertwined and shaped how we feel and play nowadays. We will be using some academic words but this is not a lecture, and it’s meant to be accessible to all backgrounds.
Topics covered:
– The cultural implications of emotions
– Non-occidental kink practices and colonialism
– short timeline of organized SM and small timeline of kink medicalization
– The war on SM (feminist porn wars and their legacy)
– HIV and body politics in neoliberalism
– Kink washing and how we can think a new SM liberation movement
