Beyond Forensic Desire

1. March 2025, 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm

An impassioned argument against “body language,” this class will a trace a path form Charles Le Brun, Charles Darwin, and Sherlock Holmes to “enhanced interrogation” torture techniques, Linda William’s account of the “moneyshot,” and the well-meaning, incessant, but all the same ruinous demand for kink classes on how to read other people.

This will open on a broader discussion of ways we can find intimacy and connection after realizing there is no foolproof way to read people.

This event is part of the “Queer Intimacies Conference – Re-Thinking & Queer(ing) Sex, Kink, and Intimacies 2025” Conference and can be purchased as a solo event or part of our day or full conference tickets.
