It’s happening! The Pointy Oooo, Sharps Awww jam is here! Time to release the adrenaline and endorphines
What is a Pointy Pokey jam?
Pointy jams is an open space format. Part hangout, part play with other like-minded people who are into needles, staples and knives. Come and hang out and watch others or do some yourself. This jam is a first, but we trust not the only a space to practice and play in a harm reduced way. It is also a great space to have sessions in a safe(r) environment with people you do not know yet.
We welcome all bodies. You must have attended the workshop earlier in the day, on Jan 31st or have pre-approved your knowledge level. This is a non-teaching space. There will be play appropriate music, extra special lighting and snacks. In the last hour of the jam, we will lower the lights to allow for a slow and gentle transition and easing out.

More Information
Practical Info
The door opens at 7:00 pm and stays open until 8:30 pm (sharp).
At 7:30 pm we will give an introduction to people who are new to the space and/or new to the jam. If you are introverted, nervous, new or need help connecting to people, DO NOT MISS THE INTRO!
We have a kitchen (that’s where the snacks hang out) and hang-out area. We have two mezzanines, one for relaxing and having private conversations, one for tying more privately.
The main room has suspension points, hashiras, bamboo and rings are provided.
In the summer: We open the garden so people can be outside. Practice can only happen if the sun sail is up. We need to keep the noise level low, though.
No problem at all. We got you. Please join us right at 7:30 pm for an introduction to the space, the jam itself, and some advice as to how to navigate a jam and how to engage with people.
You can also send us a message beforehand and we will help you navigate the evening and find like-minded people to engage with.
Can I come alone?
Absolutely. We always introduce people to each other at the introduction round at 7:30 pm, so join us then to meet other people.
LGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity, meaning: lesbian, gay, bisexual, pansexual, transgender, non-binary, genderqueer/fluid, queer, intersex, asexual, aromantic, agender.
Friends describe people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity, needs, and boundaries of a queer space and its marginalized community.
When you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgement to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. You actively request and use people’s chosen pronouns. You remain mindful of the fact that Karada House is first and foremost a space for queer people that you are also invited to attend. You have a genuine concern for the well-being of LGBTQIA+ people and remain in awareness of heterosexual and gender-straight privileges.
Friends don’t have to be perfect. None of us are. We request that we all proactively work and strive to be good friends and allies to marginalized people.
