Intimate Sessions - A Shibari Evening

Intimate Sessions. Three people tying. Three people are being tied. In a calm, sensual, and intimate way. These are not your typical Shibari performances. Nothing is rehearsed. Everything is free-flowing and searching for genuine connection and expression.

Three musicians will accompany these sessions live and interpret what they see. Ripples of music, rope, and bodies. And you, witnessing.

The sessions:

Addie & Barkas, accompanied by Kenny Stanger on the guitar

Just Addie and Barkas, some rope, and this very moment in time. Guided, held, and accompanied by outstanding guitarist Kenny Stanger.

Caritia & Agnes, accompanied by Ali Kalantary on the setar

Rope is such a fluid medium. With it, Agnes and Caritia will conjure moments of intimacy and empowerment, tenderly accompanied by Ali Kalantary on the setar. They each invite you into the mystery.

Ceci Ferox & Maeve, accompanied by Nyré Tiessen on the violin

Ceci and Maeve will share their exploration of letting the tarot cards decide what happens in their intimate session. The most excellent Nyré Tiessen will accompany on the violin in an intimate improvisational interplay.

Accessibility Note

The workshop is held in spoken English. The space, KARA, is on the ground floor but has three steps to enter the house. A ramp for wheelchairs is available at all times. There is also a parking space available right in front of the door if needed. KARA has an accessible bathroom available. There are no thresholds in the entire house. The garden is only partially accessible at the moment. During the workshop, we will sit on the floor. Sitting in a chair can also be provided. Adaptations for physical needs will be shown and can also be provided upon request.
