Global Rope Jam with Live Music

The Global Rope Jam is a tradition of Queerope and this year – for the first time – we will celebrate it online but also live in our house! Join us for live music by Ghost Acres and a guided session for the first 30 minutes by Sophia Rose. The rest of the evening we will spend tying while also watching dozens of Queerope participants from all over the world simultaneously tie in their respective countries and time zones.

NOTE:

FREE ENTRY IF YOU SHOW US YOUR QUEEROPE TICKET (day ticket for Saturday or full ticket). We also have a limited amount of tickets for LGBTQIA+ & Womên folx who want to you join and are not participants of Queerope.

Participants tying in the big workshop will be filmed and projected into the closed and password-protected Zoom room that is inhabited by Queerope participants. The Zoom session is live only, not recorded, so nobody but the participants who are present live will see you.

IT’S ROPE JAM TIME!

Rope Jams are spaces to meet people who love to tie or be tied (or both) and/or bring your tying partner(s) to have a wonderful session together in a space with like-minded people.

All roles, levels, styles, etc. are welcome.

In the last hour of the jam, we will lower the lights and music and make it cozy.

What’s the space like?

a kitchen and hang-out area

2 mezzanines for private tying

one large room with suspension points, hashiras, bamboo and rings provided.

In the summer: the silent garden (you can tie in the garden in the summer breeze but we keep noise levels low in this area.

How it works

The door opens at 7:30 pm and stays open until 8:00 pm (sharp).

You will need to purchase a ticket upfront as space is limited if you do not have a Queerope ticket.

At 8:00 pm we will give an introduction to people who are new to the space and/or new to the jam (format).

You can then choose your space to tie (we offer bamboo, ring, and spaces for floorwork). The spaces have yoga mats and cushions.

In the last hour, we lower the lights and offer a gong bath for a slower, more intimate session end.

What to bring

All ropes, gear, safety cutter, carabiners, etc you need.

We have rings and bamboo but you can also bring your own.

Please bring a blanket or towel to put on the yoga mats we provide.

What else to know

This rope jam is aimed at LGBTQIA+ & WOMÊN audiences.

This is not a teaching space.

This space is a sober space. Please do not bring any substances to the spaces.

Nudity is welcome.

Bathrooms and showers are available.

Accessibility Note

The space, KARA, is on the ground floor but has three steps to enter the house. A ramp for wheelchairs is available at all times. There is also a parking space available right in front of the door if needed. KARA has an accessible bathroom available. There are no thresholds in the entire house. The garden is only partially accessible at the moment. During the workshop, we will sit on the floor. Sitting in a chair can also be provided. Adaptations for physical needs will be shown and can also be provided upon request. We always introduce people to each other at the introduction round at 7:30 pm, so join us then to meet other people.
