Art of Shibari – Self Suspension (mixed)

21. June 2020, 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm

This workshop is an introduction to self tying and self suspending.

We will start off with a centering exercise connecting to our bodies, our breath, the space and the rope.
We will then proceed to talk about some self tying and self suspending safety concerns before starting to tie.

For the first part of the class we’ll stay on the floor learning some patterns that come in handy for self suspending (hands free upper body harnesses, a hip harnesses and leg ties).
There will be a short break after which we’ll start leaving the floor through partial and eventually full suspensions.

What you should know:

The workshop is suited for those with no previous experience with self tying or self suspending however some previous experience and knowledge of kinbaku and rope terminology is needed as we will learn patterns at a relatively high phase assuming the participants are familiar with basic ties such as single/double column ties.

Please bring your own set of 8 ropes and at least 3 carabiners (min 21kn). If you do not have own ropes, please contact us at info@karada-house.de.

This workshop will fall within the present guidelines of Covid 19. Pre-registration only. Restricted number of 7 participants. Everyone must be fit and healthy when entering the space.  No food or snacks will be provide, everyone must provide their own. Toilets are available, the shower is not.
