This class will explore the mathematical principles of angles, lines, and curves in rope. Through practical 2D and 3D examples, we will apply these concepts to a variety of bodies, demonstrating how mathematics can inform the accessibility, risk, and aesthetics of rope bondage. We’ll also use them to examine the structural integrity of ties, improvise using principles of physics and body mechanics, and enhance sustainability and joy in suspension.

Nyx (she/they) is a fat and athletic rope switch living in Austin, TX. She is passionate about accessible rope, in particular rope on bigger and older bodies.
