Welcome to Rebecca’s opening movement workshop at Karada House.

This experimental movement class series, run by Rebecca, draws inspiration from traditional hatha yoga and gaga dance. The practice is designed to facilitate self-exploration, physical well-being and relaxation.

We are slow and listening. Much of the work is done internally ; this is no workout. Rather, we are interested in the smaller voices, the subtler voices, the mini-rhythms and pulses and hints inside the body that perhaps we do not normally hear.

How do we get there? By exploring the principles of movement, sound and breath.

What does it look like? We work mostly alone (this is not contact dance), on yoga mats or blankets. Some positions might remind you of yoga asanas or practices from dance.

What is the aim? This is an experimental class, exploring intuitive body movements. We try our different ideas and Rebecca works with Participant feedback.

How are the days different? Each day we will focus on a different core principle (movement, sound and breath) combining all on the last morning.

This is a personal practice. Yoga mats are provided. Please bring warm clothes for the relaxation if it is cold.

Can I join just one class?

Yes, you can however the workshop is designed to be accumulative.
