Breath, both physical and invisible, it offers an opportunity to play deep, to stimulate fear and test our limits. Breathing is one of our autonomic responses, unconsciously governed, but to some extent we can choose if and at what rate we breathe. Breathing offers contact with our basic sense of physical living, of the boundary between life and death, of our own feelings of powerlessness or control.
This is a practical workshop with simple suggestions for playing on the more psychological side of breath play, it is NOT about chokeholds, ligatures or asphyxiation responses. While a small amount of attention will be given to Jay Wiseman and their extensive writing and authority on breath play (the information is worthwhile to consider), this workshop is about OTHER ways of playing with breath.
Breath play LITE workshop WILL cover, drowning, smothering, face sitting, D/s in breath, using breath for connection and control, co-breathing and a few tricks with common household items. Part demonstration, part participation, FULL creative exploration and discovery of how breath play could work for you and with your style of play. byo clingfilm/plastic bag.
SAFETY and basic first aid will be covered as a matter of course.
As after care we will have a nice cup of tea.
