Purpose of the Karada House Hub

The Karada House Hub is an extension of the physical and virtual Karada House, a safe(r) space for LGBTQIA+ people and womên, as well as friends. If you are unsure what that means, please make sure to check the link and see if you identify as part of these groups. This hub is designed as a central system for communicating with Karada House as well as many like-minded people. We offer a closed space for topics around the body, sexuality, kink, rope, non-normative relationships, (mental) health, politics, and LGBTQIA+ related topics.

By using the Karada House Hub you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Because the Terms and Conditions contain legal obligations, please read them carefully.

Collective Community Values

The following values are key to the Karada House Hub and its community and communication standards:

RESPECT

Respect means having due regard for people’s consent and boundaries, rights, feelings, and wishes but also their expressions and experiences. In our understanding, this kind of respect needs to be mutual and should start with understanding and inquiring about the idea of respect in and for oneself.

Respect means being aware of your own privileges in the form of gender, sexuality, language, wealth, housing, body size, mental health, neurodiversity, ability, education, skin color, relationship constellations, and citizenship and how they differ from other people’s privileges and therefore lived experiences.

Respect means rejecting racism, homophobia, sexism, transphobia, breaches of consent, body shaming, ableism, classism in all its forms whether they are blatant or come in the form of microaggressions. We all have inherited and currently inhibit at least some of these -isms but for us, respect for oneself and other humans means consistently working with oneself and others to be conscious of these biases so we can work on eradicating them.

SAFE(R) SPACE

The Karada House Hub extends its idea of being a safe(r) space for everyone involved into the virtual space. Therefore all users are asked to

  • respect people’s pronouns and gender expressions
  • understand that this platform is first and foremost for marginalized individuals

  • do not share any information, pictures, videos, etc. outside of the Karada House Hub
  • do not share their login data with other people
  • give feedback and critique in a constructive way
  • understand that we all come from very different backgrounds, cultures, lived experiences
  • ask for consent
