SUMMARY:Trauma-informed Negotiation
DESCRIPTION:Let’s make space to acknowledge the reality that most (if not all) of us may carry some histories and experiences of trauma in our bodies. When we play with the vulnerability and intimacy of kink and BDSM\, we could come into contact with these realities. How do we take better care of ourselves and one another if this is the case? \nThis 2-part-class will support you to enhance your negotiation skills beyond the basics of what you do and don’t want to do during play. How do you communicate and ask transparently about trauma? How could this show up and what to do if someone becomes triggered? What does safety and care look and feel like for you in a kink context? Let’s take an in-depth exploration into how we can develop our negotiation practice to be more trauma-informed. \nThis 2-part-class is suited for people throughout the kink spectrum\, from top to bottom\, Doms and subs\, riggers and people who like to be tied\, and switches alike – we will look from the perspective of both ‘sides’ of the equation\, what needs to be known\, how to support one another\, and how to create negotiation styles which work for you. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  July 8th & August 22nd\, 2024\, 7 pm- 9.30 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nKnowledge level:  n/a \nWhat to bring:  A journal. Any questions you have \nSolo or Partnered:  All constellations. The ticket price is per person. \nClass recording: Yes. The session will be recorded and available for 14 days after the workshop. The participants will not be recorded. \n  \nWhat else to know \nAfter your successful ticket purchase\, you will be sent an email with the Zoom login data for this event. \nIf you cannot afford this event\, please check the ticket option “solidarity” for reduced ticket prices. If that is still too much or they are out of stock\, feel free to send us a message via info@karada-house.de

SUMMARY:Resilient Space Holding
DESCRIPTION:This workshop series is for people who hold sex-positive spaces and wish to learn more in-depth how to ground in awareness of power\, intersectionality\, consent\, conflict transformation\, and trauma-informed approaches. Many of us have come to hold space for sex-positive activities more or less by accident. We quickly realize that the intersections we hold are complicated and multi-faceted. We will support you in holding space for others by teaching you these skills\, plus self-empathy and self-resourcing. \nNote: This workshop series is also part of a larger training program\, consisting of this workshop series and our upcoming in-person training for space holders and teachers that will take place in June 2024. You can book “Resilient Space Holding” as a stand-alone teaching if you do not wish to participate in the in-person training.  \n  \nThere are 2 ways to participate in this training: \nLive sessions + self-learning video \nThe series consists of 4×2 hours of live Zoom sessions which are not recorded. The number of participants for the live sessions is very limited and you will have to apply via this form. \nAfter the live sessions\, we will send you a self-learning video available for the rest of the year. This video enables you to go through the topics again\, at your own pace\, and go more in-depth. \nPrice per person: 125-175 Euros sliding scale \n  \nSelf-Learning Video: \nWe are offering this option to space holders who cannot join live\, afford the live classes\, or did not get a spot in them. The video is a summary and instruction video that will guide you through the leading topics and questions of this training so you can work at your own pace to answer them and gain more knowledge. You can purchase this option right now and will be sent the video shortly after the live classes have ended. \nPrice per person: 40-60 Euros sliding scale (if you can still not afford this offering\, please email us and we will find a way.) Purchase the self-learning option here. \n  \nEvent Details for the Live Sessions \nDate & Time:  February 27th\, March 5th\, 12th & 19th 2024\, 7 pm – 9 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: workshop (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ \nLanguage: English \nKnowledge level: – \nWhat to bring: questions\, pen & paper\, curiosity \nSolo or partnered: all constellations welcome\, everyone needs to buy a ticket \nClass recording: no \n  \nWhat will be covered: \n– Increase your facilitation skills\n– Receive support for dealing with what comes up in a group\n– How do you respond to people dominating the space?\n– How do you respond to people triggered or ‘having a meltdown’ in the space?\n– How to understand your role as a placeholder and what you need to be aware of.\n– How to manage your own boundaries (What might you share? What might you not share?)\n– What are your motivations for spaceholding?\n– How do you receive and flow with feedback?\n– How to let go of people-pleasing? How to heal from overly taking care of people?\n– How to support participants to be aware of their expectations entering a workshop/event/festival space\n– Understand the sweet spot of vulnerable expression as a placeholder \n  \nWhat else to know \nAfter your successful ticket purchase\, you will be sent an email with the Zoom login data for this event. \nIf you cannot afford this event\, please check the ticket option “solidarity” for reduced ticket prices. SUMMARY:Rope & Photography
DESCRIPTION:Photography stands as one of Shibari’s most influential art forms\, tracing its roots from the first black-and-white photographs in Japan’s Kitan Club magazine to the contemporary works of artists like Nobuyoshi Araki and Norio Sugiura. However\, it also serves as one of the most deceptive mediums for depicting Shibari\, often leading to misunderstandings and complications. Carefully selected perspectives create an illusion of flawlessness\, turning painful body positions into serene\, highly stylized elegance. Risky restraints\, primarily intended for visual impact\, sometimes find their way into actual tying sessions. Moreover\, standardized body types become the norm\, fostering the belief that adhering to an ideal physique is necessary for enjoying Shibari. \nIn the first segment of this class\, René de Sans and Sophia Rose will critically examine photography’s role in Shibari\, discussing various examples. Subsequently\, they will lead participants through a lively and interactive photo session\, where they become photographers themselves. \n  \nDetails: \nFormat: hands-on workshop/demonstration \nMinimum Knowledge Level:– \nWhat to Bring: – \nSolo or Partnered: any \nClass recording: yes \nThis class will be recorded (only the facilitator\, not the participants) and is available for ticket holders for 30 days after the event. \n

\n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  October 10 & November 7th\, 2023\, 7 pm- 9.30 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nKnowledge level:  n/a \nWhat to bring:  A journal. SUMMARY:Safety in Ropes Series
DESCRIPTION:Rope has risks! \nRope bondage can be classed as ‘edge play’ – edge play meaning a type of activity with risks that could leave persons with lasting/permanent damage\, or at worst cause death. Yet we still choose to play with it – and we can! With awareness\, understanding of the risks\, and practical steps to mitigate them… want to know more? \nIn this two-part series\, we will go in-depth to explore rope safety – to answer these questions about how you can ‘play safer’ whilst ultimately understanding and naming that rope is never fully safe. \nThis two-part series will be broken down to cover what people tying and being tied need to know about the physical and psychological needs to mitigate risks. There will be a mix of discussion\, practical exercises and tips\, and space to answer questions. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  March 21st & April 11th\, 2023\, 7- 9.30 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: Beginners – though those experienced would also benefit from hearing different perspectives\, and being able to go back and reflect on their journey \nWhat to Bring:  Questions – experiences – reflections – participation and contribution from attendees will really support this class \nSolo or Partnered: all constellations welcome\, everybody needs a ticket \nClass recording: Yes. The recording will be available for 14 days after the live class \nWhat we will teach \nPhysical safety\n– How to tell if rope/materials are safer to use?\n– What makes a tie ‘safer’?\n– Where on the body is more vulnerable to risks\n– How to move/position body for safer tying \n– Potential injury risks and how to mitigate\n– Ways to explore the boundaries/limits of your own body more ‘safely’\n– How to differentiate between ‘good’ and ‘bad/unsafe’ pain\n– What signs to look out for – green flags and red flags\n– …..and more! \nPsychological\n– How rope can affect us psychologically\n– How power dynamics can impact consent/feelings in rope\n– Boundaries and desire – how to stay connected to your needs\n– How to discuss the history of trauma approaching rope\n– What a respectful/caring rope partnership could look like\n– What is rope drop?\n– …..and more! \n  \nWhat else to know \nAfter your successful ticket purchase\, you will be sent an email with the Zoom login data for this event. \nIf you cannot afford this event\, please check the ticket option “solidarity” for reduced ticket prices.
