Mamana will repot some plants\, Renée will make her infamous tiramisu\, etc. Bring crafty stuff or ropes to tie yourself or anything else you feel like doing with your hands while we hang out. \nThis space will be held be Ceci Ferox\, Mamana and Renée de Sans. If needed and wanted we can also add some psychological first aid exercises\, etc. if you like. What you do in this space is up to you. Just show up. \nPlease note: We understand the fear and anger\, but we will not accept these feelings to be turned into discriminating behavior. We will meet with care towards any and all LGTBQIA+ people\, especially those who are affected not only be the attack itself but also by its current racist interpretations.

You spend twenty minutes tying the cleanest\, prettiest gote of your life… and the person in ropes looks at you\, shrugs\, and casually wiggles themselves out like it was never that serious. Humbling. Kind of funny. And devinately annoying. \nThis workshop leans directly into that irony: shibari is often not inherently inescapable. So what happens when we stop pretending it does? Escapism is a lab-based\, curious\, slightly mean-spirited exploration of tying specifically for the purpose of not being able to get out. Not decorative rope. Not “it’ll probably hold.” Rope designed to trap\, frustrate\, and quietly ruin someone’s confidence in their escape talent. \nWe’ll fuck around with: \n\nMinimal rope vs. obscene amounts of rope\nSimple ideas pushed way too far\nPredicaments that look stupid until you’re inside them\nMean little concepts that rely more on physics\, leverage\, and bad choices than pretty patterns\nWhat if the smartest escape route becomes the worst option?\nWhat if struggling actively makes things harder?\nWhat if the tie isn’t complex at all — just deeply unfair?\n\nExpect experiments. Some will work. Some will fail hilariously.

We firmly believe that everyone\, even if you wish to be tied\, should know the absolute basics of this craft. \nWhat we do\n\nWe talk about what the heck is Japanese inspired rope bondage and why we call it “inspired”.\nWe show you the tools are we using and tell you why they are designed the way they are.\nWe talk about why people love to tie/get tied and what happens if you tie/get tied?\nWe show you the fundamental principles of shibari and first techniques you can immediately use\nWe talk about the history of shibari\, give you pointers on anatomy\, psychology and safety\nWe will tie ourselves\, other people (if you and they want to) and actually take time to try stuff out and play\, play\, play\n\nThis class is suited for\n\nall kinds of bodies (abled and non-abled)\, all gender expressions\, all kinds of sexualities (including people on the ace-spectrum)\, all kind of brains (neurospicy or neurotypical\, affected by trauma\, etc.)\npeople coming solo or bringing a partner (or group)\, people who only want to tie their own bodies as well as people who want to tie/get tied by others

DESCRIPTION:This bi-weekly open training is designed for anyone who would like to learn about Japanese-inspired rope bondage/shibari/kinbaku whether you see yourself in the role of the person tying or being tied. \nOur open rope training for beginners is a continuous offer for anyone looking for a regular practice space to advance their skills. Each time we will offer a teaching on one particular topic. Depending on your skill level and how quickly you can pick up on things\, you can then either use the remaining open-space time to practice this one new skill in your own time or you can up the ante with the help of your teacher. You can also choose to train your own skills on another topic if you like and have a teacher give you feedback and help you improve. \nTopic of the week: Making Shapes on the Floor\nFloor tying can be very versatile and fluid when you know how to move. This open training explores how to create shapes using rope and movement. We will explore folding in\, stretching out and torsioning the body. \n\n
