SUMMARY:We Do Not Live Single-Issue Lives
DESCRIPTION:The name of the class was taken from the Audre Lorde quote\, “There is no such thing as a single-issue struggle because we do not live single-issue lives.” The talk/discussion will begin by listing the multiple identities of the presenter\, including Black\, Autistic\, Polyamorous\, Breast Cancer Survivor\, Person Living with Mental Illnesses\, and much more. \nThe bulk of the talk will deal with Intersectionality\, a concept originated by Attorney Kimberlé Williams Crenshaw\, who is known for the introduction and development of intersectionality\, the theory of how overlapping or intersecting social identities\, particularly minority identities\, relate to systems and structures of oppression\, domination\, or discrimination. \nAdditionally\, this interactive discussion will give everyone in attendance the opportunity to look at the intersections in their own lives. \n  \nThis event is part of the “Love is Polytical” Conference for Ethical & Intersectional Polyamory/Non-Monogamy and can be purchased as a solo event or part of our day or full conference tickets.  \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  January 3\, 2021\, 8pm-9:30pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: talk/discussion (virtual) \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English\, translation into German can be provided \nKnowledge level: openness of mind and willingness to learn \nClass recording: yes\, will be available for 30 days to the participants of the conference \n  \nWhat else to know \nAfter your successful ticket purchase\, you will be sent an email with the Zoom login data for this event. \nIf you cannot afford this event\, please check the ticket option “solidarity” for reduced ticket prices.
