Cegregia (she/they) and Addie (she/her) have polar opposite selfie styles yet enjoy and admire each other’s work. \nTogether they will take you on a tour of contrasts: minimalist to elaborate\, structure to chaos\, dynamic to duration. Addie starts and ends on a single column\, and Cegregia doesn’t get out of bed for less than four uplines. This class is a choose-your-own-adventure with gravity. And games! \nParticipants are welcome to tie along\, though we will not add dedicated tying time. \nNote: Need to brush up on your upline game before this class? SUMMARY:Self Tying! For Science!
DESCRIPTION:I’m sure you’ve heard this before. “The best way to learn about your body in rope is to lab with a tying partner.” It’s meant to be helpful advice. But if you don’t have a tying partner\, then what are you supposed to do? \nLet’s escape the conundrum. In this class\, we’ll explore practical ways to discover crucial information about your preferences without needing help from anybody else. You’ll leave with tons of information to share with your future tying partners (and you might also discover that it’s really fun to tie with yourself!). \nThis class is geared towards suspension\, but I’ll offer progressive exercises that start on the ground. \n  \nDetails: \nFormat: workshop \nMinimum Knowledge Level: The theory in this class is suitable for all levels. \nIf you’d like to tie along\, you should know how to tie a single-column tie\, a half hitch\, and a munter hitch. If you’re interested in adding the element of suspension into your exploration\, you should also know how to tie a secure upline. \nWhat to Bring: Bring 6-8 ropes to tie along. If you’d like to experiment with suspension\, please have a secure hard point available. If you don’t have access to a hard point but would like to flirt with gravity\, bring a heavy object that can be attached to a harness (eg. rock\, dumbbell\, stack of books). \nSolo or Partnered: solo \nClass recording: yes \nThis class will be recorded (only the facilitator\, not the participants) and is available for ticket holders for 30 days after the event. \n
