SUMMARY:Fat Rope: Suspension
DESCRIPTION:Join this demo & lecture to learn how to use the strengths of soft and heavy bodies for kick-ass suspensions. We focus on the mechanics and planning that make shibari suspension safe\, empowering\, and effective for fat bodies. We’ll look at how to work with weight\, softness\, and shape — not against them — to create efficient\, comfortable\, and powerful suspensions. \nWhat we’ll cover\n\n\nBody assessment & communication: how to talk about comfort\, pressure\, and risk with partners. \n\n\nTension & placement: manage tension and use geometry to adapt ties and positions for different body proportions and mobility needs. \n\n\nSuspension planning: understand how to build sequences that minimize strain and maximize stability on both sides of the rope. \n\nBody handling & load distribution: figure out how to lift\, where to support\, and where weight is distributed in suspension.\n\nProblem-solving: troubleshoot common issues like rope sliding\, getting loose\, or being uncomfortable. \n\n\nThis class is fat and queer centered and body-inclusive. All identities\, genders\, and body types are welcome. Tops\, bottoms\, and switches will all find practical tools to apply right away — whether you’re flying\, lifting\, or supporting. The focus is on the suspension process and no specific harnesses are taught.

SUMMARY:Rope Structures: Arms Front Harness
DESCRIPTION:Ceci’s arms-front harness offers comfort\, adaptability\, and clean aesthetics. You’ll learn how to construct it while focusing on body geometry\, balance\, and connection. A great transition harness for those moving toward suspension or more demanding floor work\, as the focus is more on the body being tied and tailoring\, than using specific frictions.  \nRope Structures Series\nTake your fundamentals and start building stronger\, more supportive structures. We explore specific harness types\, styles\, body positions\, and different tying styles from across rope traditions.  \n\n

SUMMARY:Rope Hangout: Beginnings
DESCRIPTION:A rope hangout is an event where we learn from each other\, peer-to-peer\, get to know each other\, and do rope in a relaxed atmosphere\, regardless of experience level. All kinds of Japanese inspired rope bondage/shibari/kinbaku are welcome. \nYou can hang out\, have drinks and snacks and chat with people if you don’t feel like tying. Being there is enough! \nThis month’s special focus: Beginnings\nBeginnings of sessions\, rope relationships\, passions\, learning… \nThe things you research\, share\, and explore at rope hangout don’t have to be on this topic\, it’s merely a source of inspiration that we offer if people are interested. Bring your own topics\, questions and ideas if you like. \n Note: This is not a rope jam. It’s a peer learning environment. \n\n

SUMMARY:Self Tied Suspension Harnesses
DESCRIPTION:Curious about self-suspension\, but need guidance with figuring out harnesses? Or maybe you’re already playing in the air\, but want more nerdy knowledge? This workshop is for rope lovers ready to explore what is needed for lifting off. Ceci will guide you through tying your own harnesses with intention\, precision\, and care\, laying the groundwork for safe and satisfying solo suspension. \nWe’ll cover:\n\n\nTwo self-tied chest harnesses \n\n\nHip harness for different body shapes \n\n\nFutomomo (leg binder) \n\n\nBasket tie for the booty \n\n\nHow to connect suspension lines to these ties effectively and safely \n\n\nThis is a hands-on\, body-aware class—you’ll be tying on your own body and learning techniques that prioritize sustainability\, nerve safety\, and adaptability. All harnesses can be tied while seated if needed. While this is not a complete self-suspension workshop\, it’s ideal for people who want to build toward that practice with strong fundamentals. \n\n

SUMMARY:Rope Fundamentals: Shibari Starter Kit Weekend
DESCRIPTION:Kick off the new year — and your rope journey — with a weekend that bundles our entire Rope Fundamentals series into one playful\, beginner-friendly shibari workshop. We have reworked our rope curriculum\, and you get to reap the benefits in this relaunch weekend. \nAcross two days\, you’ll move from the simplest building blocks to a clear understanding of how harnesses work. Whether you’re brand new\, brushing off old skills\, or craving a solid base before exploring deeper techniques\, this weekend is designed to set you up with confidence\, creativity\, and connection. \nYou can bring someone with you to tie with or come solo and find a partner at the workshop. \nJoin us for the full journey\, or pick the day that suits you best: \n\nFoundations & Fun (get day tickets for Saturday here)\nNerdery & Harnesses (get day tickets for Sunday here)\n\nFoundations & Fun\nSaturday gives you the tools that make shibari fun — or intense\, or meditative\, or horny\, or whatever flavor of rope you want to create. Ceci will get you started with the most essential techniques: the lark’s head\, the single column tie\, clean wrapping\, managing tension\, and staying safe. Once those basics are in place\, we spend the rest of the day putting them to use in playful\, intuitive ways. \nWe’ll explore freestyle tying and improvisation to loosen the pressure of “doing it right.” Through one-rope exercises\, wrapping\, unwrapping\, and re-wrapping bodies\, you’ll learn to follow curiosity instead of memorizing patterns. Because rope isn’t static — people move — we’ll also practice guiding and responding to movement through levers\, spirals\, and simple transitions like sitting to standing or shifting limbs mid-tie. \nAlong the way\, we dive into the emotional and psychological effects of rope: how body positions\, pacing\, tension\, and proximity can shift headspace and shape intention. With just a few simple ties\, you’ll learn to create sessions that feel impactful\, intimate\, and expressive. \nTake aways:\n\nLarkshead & single column tie\nRope safety\nOne rope tying\, wrapping & unwrapping\nPlaying with different intentions and moods\nMoving bodies & tying in movement\n\nNerdery & Harnesses\nSunday is for the rope nerds (or for anyone ready to become one). Today we dive into the mechanics behind stable\, comfortable\, body-friendly tying. We’ll explore how to apply rope with intention\, how to create structures that fit real bodies\, and how to make your tying smoother\, safer\, and more efficient. \nYou’ll learn counter tensions\, ladder structures\, your first frictions\, and how to wrap with flow and consistency. These building blocks are what allow harnesses to hold their shape. We’ll also cover ergonomics and hand techniques\, like hooking and pulling rope\, so you can tie for longer without soreness or strain. \nWith these tools in place\, we’ll begin tying simple harnesses and\, more importantly\, understanding why they work. You’ll get a clear picture of the core components (anchors\, stems\, wraps\, frictions\, and cinches) and start recognizing the logic behind shibari structures. This modular thinking becomes the foundation for everything that comes after. \nTake aways:\n\nDouble column tie\nRope handling & ergonomics\nTension\, counter tension & ladders\nIntro to harnesses: anchors\, stems\, wraps\, frictions\, cinches\nFrictions: Half hitch\, full stop\, munter hitch\, in-line single column tie\nOne rope harnesses: chest harness\, futomomo\, box tie

SUMMARY:Intentional Kink Spaces: Structures & Organizing
DESCRIPTION:Ceci is back—this time with a deeper dive into the behind-the-scenes work that holds intentional kink spaces together. This workshop is all about the structures and organizing practices that shape how our spaces function\, feel\, and evolve. \nOn a structural level\, we’ll explore how to navigate accessibility\, power\, accountability\, consent\, and intersectionality with care and intention. What does it actually take to build kink spaces that don’t just feel good\, but are rooted in shared values and collective responsibility? \nWe’ll also get into the real talk of organizing with others: group dynamics\, conflict\, division of labor\, boundaries around unpaid work\, and how to sustain ourselves while doing this work. This is a space for shared learning—bring your strategies\, your questions\, and your chaos. Together\, we’ll build a collective toolkit for queer\, grounded\, and resilient organizing. \nYou’ll leave with\n\n\nConcrete tools and models for running intentional kink spaces \n\n\nSpace to reflect on your own organizing challenges and dreams \n\n\nSupport and insight from Ceci and fellow community organizers \n\n\nA richer understanding of how to build spaces that truly hold us \n\n\nWhether you’re already running events or just imagining something new\, you’re warmly invited.

SUMMARY:Open Rope Training Level-Up: Intro to Suspension
DESCRIPTION:Ready to take your rope practice to the next level? This workshop is your gateway into the world of shibari suspensions — introducing you to the foundational skills needed to begin playing with suspension lines and exploring partial suspensions safely. \nSuspension lines bring a whole new dimension to tying\, adding verticality\, tension\, and creative potential—even without going fully airborne. This is a perfect stepping stone into more advanced suspension play—no rush\, no pressure\, just solid\, supportive learning. \nThis class includes\n\nAttaching suspension lines to harnesses\nLocking off main and secondary suspension lines\nSuspension safety & equipment\nSuspension lines as support for floor tying\nPartial suspension from the lower body\nAdding intensity to a position with suspension lines\n\nWho This Class Is For\nThis class is for ropey babes who’ve got the basics down and are ready to explore suspension without going fully into the air. It’s a great next step if you’re moving into intermediate classes like Open Rope Training or Rope Study with Dasniya. \nCome solo or with a partner—there’s room for tops\, bottoms\, switches\, and self-tyers. All genders\, bodies\, abilities\, and dynamics welcome.

SUMMARY:Pleasure Resistance – Sexual Liberation in a Fucked up World
DESCRIPTION:We live in a world that thrives on disconnection from our bodies\, from our desires\, from one another. Pleasure is often framed as a luxury\, a distraction\, or something to be earned. But what if pleasure is something deeper — a form of resistance? A radical reclaiming of our humanity\, our agency\, and our aliveness? \nPleasure Resistance is a 3-hour workshop\, conversation\, and community space that invites you to explore pleasure not as indulgence\, but as a political practice that builds resilience. Together\, we’ll unpack how oppressive systems like patriarchy\, white supremacy\, capitalism\, and colonialism disconnect us from our erotic selves\, and how reclaiming joy and sensuality can be a bold act of defiance and care. \nThis is a space for anyone who has felt anger\, shame\, numbness\, or confusion around pleasure. It’s for survivors\, queers\, rebels\, and anyone longing to reconnect with their pleasure in a world that tries to shut it down. You don’t need to have it all figured out\, just come as you are. \nWhat happens in the workshop?\nThrough guided reflection\, group dialogue\, and body-based awareness exercises\, you’ll be invited to: \n\nReframe pleasure as a tool for resilience and rebellion\nIdentify internalized narratives that limit your erotic freedom\nFind rebellious paths to pleasure in an oppressive world\nExplore what sexual liberation means to you\nConnect with others in honest\, non-judgmental conversation\nBegin (or deepen) your journey toward embodied joy\n\nThis space welcomes all genders\, sexualities\, body types\, and lived experiences within the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. You do not need to have a positive relationship with sex or pleasure to attend — curiosity\, openness\, and respect are all that’s required. \n\n

SUMMARY:Rope for Nerds: Detail Focus & Debugging
DESCRIPTION:Welcome back to Rope for Nerds — the workshop series for rope brains who want to really understand what’s going on under the hood. \nThis session is all about refinement: the often-overlooked micro-skills and subtle mechanics that elevate your rope from “functional” to “flawlessly intentional.” Whether you’re chasing the mythical perfect single-column tie or endlessly fiddling with your tension to no avail\, this workshop compiles years of niche knowledge into a concentrated toolkit you didn’t know you needed—until now. \nWe’ll break down the biomechanics of tying\n\nHow to control tension consistently\nHow rope behaves under load and movement\nWhat actually makes a single-column tie “good\,” and how to identify weak links\nHow to reduce drag\, increase flow\, and move like your future self\n\nAnd then—debugging\nBecause let’s be honest: ties don’t always go as planned. Ceci will introduce a practical Rope Debugging Checklist — a system for analyzing and troubleshooting your rope in real time. Bring your toughest knots\, recurring frustrations\, and messy half-solutions. You’ll get hands-on help in problem-solving real-world issues\, and leave with better strategies for working through technical glitches on your own. \nExpect lots of tinkering\, a healthy dose of analysis\, and plenty of “ah-ha!” moments. Rope as craft. Rope as puzzle. Rope as precision instrument. Let’s get into it. \nIdeal For\n\nTechnically-minded riggers\, bottoms\, and switches\nThe nerdiest of the nerds\nBeginners\, the people who think they already know it all\, and the people who got over that phase and know they still have years to learn\nAnyone who loves diagrams\, efficiency\, or the phrase “root cause analysis”

SUMMARY:Open Rope Training Intermediate: Predicaments in Partial Suspension
DESCRIPTION:This monthly intermediate open rope training is directed at building on what has been taught in the Beginner Open Rope Training. We will dive deeper into topics\, techniques and ideas that give more range and depth to your rope practice. \nTopic of Exploration: Predicaments in Partial Suspension\nPredicaments are positions that give the person tied the opportunity to move between two or more positions that suck. In this class\, we will use partial suspensions to create ties that fuck with the mind. Ceci will demonstrate some fundamentals and ideas\, after which you will practice creating your own predicament ties. It’s possible to either copy what is shown or come up with your own version. Any kind of body can be tied in the class. You have to understand the risks of suspension on both sides of the rope to join this class.
