SUMMARY:The FAT Lab & Jam
DESCRIPTION:Are you tired of feeling like your body doesn’t fit the narrow imagery of bondage? So are we. This is a rope jam for people who dress in sizes 44 and up. \nBecause we want a space that celebrates the fact that not only can all of us tie and be tied\, but we look gorgeous doing it. And because we want a space where we can help each other and share knowledge specifically about tying fat bodies. In an environment where we are not the exception but the norm. \nCeci Ferox is available during the jam to help and give ideas. They have experience and knowledge in tying fat and heavy bodies both from inside and outside the ropes. \nIf you can buy clothes in normal clothes stores\, please make sure to give extra space for the experiences and voices of those with bigger bodies than yours. \nWho is welcome? \nPeople who dress in sizes 44 or larger because smaller sizes do not fit their body. Yes you can bring your smaller rope partner with you. No\, you can not come alone if you dress in sizes that are smaller than 44 or only dress in those sizes because you like “baggy” clothes. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  February 15th\, 2022\, 7 – 10 pm – Doors open between 18.45-19.15 only \nFormat: Lab and Jam \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ \nLanguage: English \nWhat to Bring:  \n\nWhat we teach/offer\n·         Collective start with an introduction round \n·         Lab time where we ask specific questions on tying or being tied and troubleshoot together \n·         Fun times practising and playing \n  \nSafety Concept & Regulation \nPlease consult our safety concept and regulations for this event here. \n  \nAccessibility \nThe space and one toilet are accessible by wheelchair \nThere will be no flashing lights or loud music \nThere are chairs\, pillows\, and mattresses to sit on \nPlease contact us if you have any questions about accessibility! \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgement to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. You actively request and use people’s chosen pronouns. You remain mindful of the fact that Karada House is first and foremost a space for queer people that you are also invited to attend. You have a genuine concern for the well-being of LGBTQIA+ people and remain in awareness of heterosexual and gender straight privileges. \nFriends don’t have to be perfect. None of us are. We request that we all pro-actively work and strive to be good friends and allies to marginalized people.

SUMMARY:Suspension Ideas for Self-Tying
DESCRIPTION:This is a workshop for people who have already started self-suspension and want new ideas to try. \nCeci will teach two self-suspensions that are true to their self-tying style: sustainable and juicy to stay in. \nThe first exercise explores the uses of futomomos in vertical\, head up suspensions. We will discuss what to take into consideration when constructing and using futomomos in this way. \nThe second exercise is a sequence that ends in a face-down suspension. \nCeci will show which patterns to use for the suspension sequence and give tips on how to make it more comfortable. \nThis workshop is in lecture format\, which means you have the chance to ask questions but there will not be time to complete the exercises during class. Ceci is available to answer specific questions also after the class on ceci.ferox@gmail.com or Instagram @ceciferox. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  December 30th\, 2021\, 7 pm – 9 pm \nFormat: lecture \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Requirement: basic knowledge about self-suspension \nWhat to Bring:  – \nRecording: This class is recorded and will be available for 14 days after the event \n  \nWho is this event for? \nLGBTQIA+ describes the full spectrum of non-mainstream sexual orientation and/or gender identity\, meaning: lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, pansexual\, transgender\, non-binary\, genderqueer/fluid\, \nFriends describes people of any and all kinds of gender and sexual identities who are aware and respectful of the necessity\, needs\, and boundaries of a queer safe(r) space and its marginalized community. \nWhen you consider yourself a friend you show acknowledgment to and are respectful of everyone’s self-expression and do not assume\, presume or project non-consensual ideas onto others. SUMMARY:Solo Play Sunday: Self-Suspension Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Self-suspension is a very dynamic art form. You can create interesting shapes and sensations\, explore how moving inside the ropes affects your center of gravity\, your weight in the ropes\, and sense even small differences in your tying immediately. You can explore where ropes feel good or bad\, and where they feel bad in a good way. You find which parts of your body are strong\, and you can put trust in the parts that feel weak to teach your body that you are capable and enough. \nIn this workshop\, we will work both close to the floor and standing up. We will create one M-shaped suspension while standing up. Close to the floor\, we will explore movement and different positions. \nNote: There will be a  solo play jam after this event (50% off in the cart\, if you purchase the jam with this event). \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  December 19th\, 2021\, 11 am -3 pm \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: solid understanding of the single column tie\, basic rope handling skills\, basic experience with suspension line management. \nWhat to Bring:  ropes\, safety equipment\, carabiners and anything else you need \nSolo or Partnered: solo\, obviously  \n  \nWhat Ceci will teach \n– Self-suspension safety \n– Suspension line basics for self-suspension \n–  Ceci’s chest harness for vertical self-suspension \n–  M-shaped suspension \n– Creativity and improvisation \n  \nSafety Concept \nYou need to bring proof of vaccination or proof that you are “genesen” (official proof of having had Covid-19 within the last 6 months) in order to be let inside. \nHand disinfectant provided in multiple places. We will practice using counter tension\, the direction changer/half hitch\, and the munter hitch. It’s all about drills and\nunderstanding why things work the way they do! The content includes two knots for the single column tie and discussing the functional properties of each. We will also learn how to make an in-line single-column tie. Many of Ceci’s students in Helsinki have attended this workshop several times during different points of their tying journey. Challenge yourself and come check out what it’s all about! \nThe Rope Practice Lab is your opportunity to practice your tying skills while having someone there to help you out. We start with a starting circle\, where everyone shares what they want to work on during the lab. After that\, it’s practice time. Ceci walks around the room helping you with your specific questions. They offer feedback\, possible solutions to problems\, co-creation\, technical assistance\, and support if you want to try something on the upper limits of your skills. \n  \nMinimum Knowledge Level: You can make some kind of single-column tie. SUMMARY:Ceci’s Ultimate Rope Geekery Weekend Course: Frictions and Fundamentals for Floor Play
DESCRIPTION:Frictions are the building blocks of any tie\, be it a pattern or just freestyle. They make the structure and safety of a tie. \nThis workshop is part of a weekend deep dive into all things friction\, knots\, and tension. You can choose to visit only the workshop on Saturday or Sunday. If you would like to book the entire weekend\, please purchase your ticket via this event. \n  \nSaturday: Frictions and Fundamentals for Floor Play + Rope Practice Lab \nIn this workshop\, we will dive deep into the frictions for tying on the floor. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time:  November 20th\, 2021\, 11 am-6.30pm \nFormat: workshop \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English \nMinimum Knowledge Level: You can make some kind of single-column tie.

SUMMARY:Kinky – Identity or Preference?
DESCRIPTION:Kink is seen as something dirty that needs to be hidden\, something you choose to do instead of needing. \nStill very recently being kinky was a mental disorder\, a paraphilia that was pathologized. The normative gay community has been trying to keep a distance to BDSM because of politics\, even though it’s an integral part of queer culture. Some people still fear for their jobs and their family ties in case their kinky activities would come out. And some people get turned on by feeling wrong\, by being stigmatized. \nBeing kinky has a different meaning for different people. For some\, it is a primary sexual identity\, more important than things like the gender of partners or genital-based sexual activity. For others\, it’s a secondary identity\, and for many\, it’s the spice for the bedroom or a preference they can live without. \nJoin Ceci for this exploration of kink through performance and discussion. Share stories\, get political\, feel like you found a home\, feel alienated\, get angry\, give support\, listen. Leave with some new perspectives in the end. \n  \nThis event is part of the “About: Sexual Identities” Conference and can be purchased as a single ticket or be part of the day ticket or full conference ticket. \n  \nEvent Details \nDate & Time: April 24th\, 2 -3.30 pm CET (Berlin time) \nFormat: discussion / demonstration \nAudience:  LGBTQIA+ & FRIENDS \nLanguage: English\, translation into German can be provided \nMinimum Knowledge Level: – \nWhat to bring: utensils like paper\, pen\, or laptop \nClass recording: Yes. The participants will not be recorded. \n  \nWhat will happen \n– Performance on kink and identity (Trigger Warning for kinky content\, possible face\, and neck rope\, possible triggering language) \n– Facilitated discussion and sharing ink is seen as something dirty that needs to be hidden\, something you choose to do instead of needing. \n  \nWhat else to know \nAfter your successful ticket purchase\, you will be sent an email with the Zoom login data for this event. \nIf you cannot afford this event\, please check the ticket option “solidarity” for reduced ticket prices.
